Assimilation of the Self and the Universe
My work begins with the self as its point of origin and expands into an inquiry into the essential relationship between the self and the universe. What appears as multiplicity ultimately converges into harmony. Living within this universe, I have sought a transcendent and universal spiritual realm beyond visible materiality. Over time, my practice has naturally evolved toward abstraction, moving beyond visual representation into a state where the flow of the mind and inner stillness come into quiet alignment.
Through motifs such as cosmic light, sky, and earth, I aim to express the order of the universe that gives rise to life through the love that connects these two realms. I also explore the eternal circulation in which heaven and earth become one. In my work “Heaven and Earth,” the principles and natural order symbolizing these elements reflect this vision.
Ultimately, my work is a journey toward the essence of the self—an immersion into “heaven and earth” in search of a true and unified being.
나의 작업은 자아를 출발점으로 삼아, 자아와 우주 사이의 관계의 본질에 대한 탐구로 확장된다. 서로 다른 것처럼 보이는 모든 것은 결국 조화로 수렴한다. 나는 이 우주 안에서 보이는 물질 세계를 넘어, 초월적이고 보편적인 정신의 세계를 추구해왔다.
그 과정에서 나의 작업은 점차 추상으로 나아가며, 시각적 재현을 넘어 마음의 흐름과 내적 고요가 자연스럽게 조화를 이루는 상태에 이르게 되었다.
나는 우주의 빛, 하늘과 땅과 같은 모티프를 통해, 이 두 세계를 잇는 사랑이 생명을 탄생시키는 우주의 질서를 표현하고자 한다. 또한 하늘과 땅이 하나로 이어지는 영원한 순환을 탐구한다. 「하늘과 땅」 작업에서 나타나는 원리와 자연의 질서는 이러한 사유를 반영한다.결국 나의 작업은 자아의 본질로 돌아가는 여정이며, ‘하늘과 땅’(우주) 속으로 스며들어 진정한 자아를 찾고자 하는 시도이다.
